The Welcome Week survey is for 1st year undergraduate and taught postgraduates
The Welcome Week Survey runs from Week 3 of Semester 1 until Week 6. It's open to all first year undergraduate students and taught postgraduates students and asks about your experience of Welcome Week. In 2015, over 800 students told us what they thought of Welcome Week.
The Module Evaluation Surveys are for All undergraduate and postgraduate students
At the end of each semester, you'll be given the chance to fill in a module evaluation form. Your lecturers will ask you to go online (to myBangor) and tell them what you thought of your modules. Then lecturers come up with a plan of action to do more of what works well, and address any areas of the module that didn't quite work out. Look out for updates from your lecturers or school about how they've used the feedback given by students – you might be surprised at just how much change has taken place
The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) is Taught postgraduate students
The PTES is designed for taught postgraduate students, exploring your experience of learning and teaching, skills development, organisation, resources, and engagement with the course. PTES takes place every year, between March and May. This is an animated dialog which is useful for displaying information. The dialog window can be moved, resized and closed with the 'x' icon.
The Postgraduate Research Experience Survey is for Research postgraduate students (held biennially)
The PRES is designed for postgraduate research students, giving you a chance to share your views on your experience of supervision, the research environment and your development as a researcher. It runs every two years: the last PRES was in the academic year 2014/15, so the next will be 2016/17.
The NSS is a high-profile survey of nearly half a million students across the UK. Conducted by an independent company, the survey is aimed at final year undergraduates, and asks you to provide feedback on your time as a student. The survey runs from January until April; if you are eligible to take part Ipos Mori will contact you during this time. Information from the NSS is published on www.unistats.ac.uk to help prospective students choose which universities to apply to.
There are several surveys you can take part in during your time as a student. These are a really important part of TogetherWe – the information from all student surveys gets attention across the University, and many of the changes you see will have been in response to comments students have left in these surveys.
Undeb Bangor Course Reps
Course Reps are fellow students that are elected by you to represent your views about issues surrounding your course. They might represent students on a particular module or course, or even all of the students in your school year. They attend meetings with staff in your school and college, as well as Student Union meetings, to make sure that your voice is heard. Course Reps also have the opportunity to give student feedback in many other ways, by conducting surveys, taking part in focus groups and other one off events. Find out more...
